The Medina County Park District announces a summer " Railroad Camp" activity. offered by the Northeastern Ohio Live Steamers, at the MCPD's Lester Rail Trail Park in York Township. This day camp opportunity will be a 4 day experience for girls and boys, ages 12 to 14, to have fun and to experience the full spectrum of miniature outdoor railroad activities at one of the park district's newest attraction.
Activities will include assembly of track, a switch, and a riding car, roadbed prep, track installation, maintenance techniques, and safe operation of diesel, electric, and steam locomotives with short trains. A hobo dinner will be served to the campers and their families on Thursday evening, , Participants are to provide their own bag lunches and transportation to and from Lester.
